Education
Although an
Electrical Engineer by training, photography has been a necessary
component of his life in order to exercise his ‘right-brain’
creativity. Bill was initially trained in B&W darkroom techniques
during summer school classes in a progressive grade school. During his later
years in high school, he was the sole photographer for his yearbook and
weekly newspaper, shooting and processing literally hundreds of feet of
film. During this period he
also worked as a darkroom assistant in a local color photo studio
specializing in portraiture and aerial photography.
Bill’s studio
experience allowed him to learn much of the technical expertise and
exposed him to large format photography.
